The Secret of it All

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” —Matthew 5:8

The heart becomes pure by striving to express the true qualities of the soul, one’s higher Self, with acts of kindness, compassion, forgiveness, unselfishness, and love.

Ah! Sweet mystery of life

Ah! Sweet mystery of life

At last I've found thee, ah!

I know at last the secret of it all;

All the longing, seeking, striving, waiting, yearning

The burning hopes, the joy and idle tears that fall!

For 'tis love, and love alone, the world is seeking,

And 'tis love, and love alone, that can repay!

'Tis the answer, 'tis the end and all of living

For it is love alone that rules for aye!

(Rida Johnson Young wrote the lyrics of the song and

Victor Herbert composed the music, 1910.)

The Six-Rose design signifies God’s all-pervading Love. The soul resides in God’s Love.

White indicates purity: the heart’s intention to express divine love.

Lace symbolizes meditative calmness, necessary to feel His love.

Raspberry — red’s energetic enthusiasm with a touch of purple’s healing — strengthens one’s willingness and effort to make the heart pure.

Dear All-Pervading Cosmic Love,

Help me to know Thy omnipresent love,

That my heart may soar to new heights

Empowered by my love for Thee.

May I find Thee within and in all souls everywhere.

It is Thy love that I am seeking. It is Thy love that rules my world.

Peace. Love. Amen.

Ukrainian folklore characterizes pysanky as a symbolic, talismanic writing that invokes a higher Universal Power for help, while believing with faithful certainty that It will. The contemporary version of this characterization is a paper-and-pen journaling practice called prayer writing that develops a personal relationship with God.
