"Today is only one day in all the days that will ever be.

But what will happen in all the other days that will ever come, can depend on what you do today."

– Ernest Hemingway

A Living Example Of Optimism

Sebastien Bellin survived the 2016 Brussel Airport bombing. The injuries his legs sustained were so severe they were life-threatening, causing him to lose half the blood in his body. Mr. Bellin related the following in a CBS: 48 Hour interview:

" You're about to die. I can remember being fixated on a point on the ceiling and being like – they're not going to get me, they're not going to get me. I'm thinking, I got to make it. I got to make it. I got to see my daughters again. I got to see my girls again. The whole time you're fixated on that one thing and you don't want to let any negative thought into your mind at all."

"I think I have suffered from post traumatic stress but I try to defeat it with all the other great things that are happening. There is not a thing that can stop me now. I love life and, you know, it's been good to me."

234 days after the bombing, Sebastien Bellin ran a 10 mile race and plans to run a full marathon in the near future.

"When you notice a negative quality, do not concentrate on it; instead, put your whole attention and energy on cultivating the opposite good quality.

This is transmutation.

If we are dwelling all the time on our flaws, we are actually making them stronger – reinforcing them by focusing on and identifying ourselves with them."

Write Prayer

Patterns of thought and action, often repeated, create habits.

The repetitive design elements on a pysanka provide prayer writers with a valuable opportunity to create positive habits by affirming the divine virtues of the soul.

.... Symbolism ....

The pussy willows on this psyanka emerge from an eight-pointed rose – the symbol for God. Their golden color refers to soul-wisdom. The repetitive number of pussy willows in the design are affirmations that lead to renewed understandings, renewed attitudes, a new way of being. With the mind devotionally interiorized on God, the thought affirmed while writing each symbol influences the subconscious mind and becomes a habitual part of the prayer writer’s nature. The color of the eight-pointed rose symbolizes God’s loving readiness to comply with the prayer writer’s request.

Fearlessness. Fearlessness. Fearlessness.

I am made in the image and likeness of God who is fearless.

I am fearless. I am fearless. I am fearless.

I am made in the image and likeness of God who is fearless.

I am strong. I am brave. I can handle whatever confronts me.

Fearlessly happy am I.

Writing to God repetitively in a prayer journal is equally as effective in accomplishing new habits, new ways of thinking.
