In prayer writing, and true for all forms of prayer, a personal, friendly, relatable concept of God is essential. Understanding the soul is equally important.

“You are made in the image and likeness of God.”

— Genesis 1:27

“The kingdom of God is within you.”

— Luke 17:20-21

Both of these biblical verses speak of the soul: the spark of divinity within each of us. Endowed with such glory, our joyous duty is to manifest this Higher Self.

The pure sincerity of a prayer writer’s intent is symbolized in the White details.

Guideline progression

During the placement of the guidelines, talking to God, asking His help, contemplating the intent and meaning of the symbols, silent periods of concentration, attentive listening for an inner response, all help develop an inner awareness of intuitive Truth.

DIY:

These foundational guidelines can produce an interesting variety of beautiful pysanky. The band or the box can be included in that variety rather than being erased.

Lord, someone recently said: “We’re not human beings having a spiritual experience. We’re spiritual beings having a human experience.”

Help me to understand.

Symbol for meditative, affirming prayer.

As the Lace symbol was being written in each diamond-space, (#5 above), a meaningful affirmation was repeated, with a different soul-quality affirmed in each one.

Thou art love. I am loving.

Thou art compassion. I am compassionate.

Thou art kindness, I am kind.

Thou art forgiveness. I am forgiveness.

Thou art calmness. I am calm.

Thou art joy. I am joyful.

Intentional repetition of positive affirmations reprograms the mind to be something more, something better. Something that reflects the innate image and likeness of Spirit within the soul: A spiritual being having a human experience.

Affirmations are most effective if they are personally meaningful and inspirational.
